This summer the Kyujanggak Institute of Korean Studies is to organize its eighth summer workshop in Korean Students. The workshop is aimed at graduate students in Korean Studies or Korea-related subjects who want to expand their knowledge about research trends in various fields of Korean Studies. It will take place from June 30 to July 11 2014, at the Kyujanggak Institute for Korean Studies.

Morning lectures will cover research methods, trends, and approaches in 10 different fields: history of science, old documents, architecture, anthropology, religion, art, politics, history, modern literature, and law. There will be ample time for discussion, and on the last day students will have the opportunity to present their research project or other aspects of Korean studies that interest them. All classes and discussions will take place in Korean. In the afternoon, students can either take an introductory class in reading classical Korean texts composed in Hanmun, or they can join the advanced Hanmun class (which lasts four weeks – see separate announcement).
