The academic journal Korean Culture has been published since 1980 by the Korean Culture Research Institute, and its 63rd issue was published in September 2013. Korean Culture has been distributed to libraries and research institutes inside and outside Korea, as well as to departments related to Korean studies and individual researchers, in order to promote active research in Korean studies. Korean Culture was registered with the Korea Research Foundation in January 2007 and has been published quarterly since 2008. Submissions of essays on literature, history, and social issues relating to Korean studies are considered throughout the year.

The inaugural issue was published in 1976, and November 2013 saw the publication of its 43rd issue. Major contents include philological works on the discovery, introduction, organization, and classification of materials, and in-depth bibliographical works on materials. If necessary, the journal can include the original text of materials, as well as theses analyzing the materials included in Kyujanggak’s collection. It is published twice a year (June, December), and the deadlines for submissions are April 30 and October 30.

Seoul Journal of Korean Studies

TheSeoulJournalofKoreanStudies is the English-language academic journal registered to SCOPUS and KCI and is published twice a year by Seoul National University and the Kyujanggak Institute for Korean Studies. It accepts theses in various fields, including the culture, history, literature, religion, and arts of Korea. Thesis submissions are reviewed by experts in the corresponding field, through an editorial committee composed of domestic and foreign scholars.
