The Hanguk Munhwa was firstpublished in 1980, and since then 38 volumes have been issued. The Hanguk Munhwa isdistributed widely to domestic and international libraries, research centers, departments and Korean Studies scholars and has contributed to revitalizing research in Korean studies. The Journal also has been registered in the Korea Research Foundation since December 2006.
Article contributions are welcomein the fields of Korean literature, history, and , and the twice-a-year deadlines for submissions are April and October 30th. The Journal intends to convert to a quarterly schedule in 2008.
